The Calchaquí Valley (Spanish: Valles Calchaquíes) is an area in the northwestern region of Argentina which crosses the provinces of Catamarca, Tucumán and Salta. It is best known for its contrast of colours and its unique geography that ranges from the mountain desert to the subtropical forest.

A precis of what to expect when biking the Andes, through Argentina, Bolivia and Peru. The tour is designed to help everyone acclimatise to the altitude. There is some spectacular riding, some scenic, easy, moderate and single track if you wish! It's your choice. For those of you who are photographers, the scenery is mind-blowing.

Valparaiso north of Santiago is an artist's mecca, the place to go to see some amazing street art!

I left for Peru as soon as the International Travel restrictions were lifted!! I was on a recci, checking out, operators, services, activities, accommodation, commercial businesses that Latin Link Adventure had dealt with prior to the Pandemic. I also tried some new activities, Via Ferrata in the Sacred Valley outside of Cusco and a couple of new bike trails in the Andes. I returned home, quietly confident that Peru, would once again, be 'UP THERE' on the bucket lists of many travellers . Tourists from the US and different parts of Europe and the UK , were just starting to arrive in Cusco for the month of June, for several major festivals. Yeh!

Climbing to the Skylodge Capsules in the Urubamba Valley, Cusco was one of my main objectives in travelling to this area. It was my 4th attempt to climb the Via Ferrata. Previous bookings hadn't worked out timing wise. Finally, I made the mostly vertical climb to 3500m plus and it was worth it!
