Day 1 Tarapoto – Gocta (L,D)
Fly to Tarapoto
From Tarapoto head to the land of the Chacapoyas
First stop at Moyobamba, a city famous for the orchids of its valleys, to visit a botanical
garden. Second stop at the highest point of this route, Abra Patricia, to walk across
an incredible mulchy cloudforest and climb a canopy tower. Boxed lunch. We'll finally
see the sunset in front of Gocta waterfalls, one of the highest in the world, in the
heart of the Peruvian northern Andes. Dinner and overnight at Gocta Andes Lodge.

Day 2 Gocta (B,L,D)
From Gocta Lodge there's an amazing view of the waterfalls, but the trail leading to
them is even more breathtaking. It's a two hour hike (each way), first crossing Andean
crops and orchards and then suddenly you enter a gallery forest. There's the option to
do this trail on horseback. Lunch at the lodge, free afternoon, dinner and overnight.
Day 3 Kuelap (B,L,D)
We'll start driving along the Utcubamba valley, between bromeliads and cacti, and
at Tingo we'll begin to climb to Kuelap, crossing traditional Andean villages, to finally
reach the fortress at 3,000 m.a.s.l. Guided visit to Kuelap archaeological site. Lunch
at the village of Maria. In the afternoon we'll visit the colonial capital of this region,
Chachapoyas. Return to Gocta Lodge, dinner and overnight.
Day 4 Gocta – Tarapoto (B)
Return by road to Tarapoto where arrangements end at the airport
