Highlights of Brazil & Argentina

Day 1 Rio de Janeiro

On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2 Rio de Janeiro

After a beautiful scenic drive along Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon beaches and Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, arrive at the bottom of the Corcovado Hill and embark on a comfortable train taking you up the mountain to where the statue of Christ the Redeemer, overlooks Rio and its famous beaches.  Return to Tijuca and then to the hotel.  This afternoon depart on a tour of the city and take the cable car to the summit of Sugar Loaf for more spectacular views of Rio and its beaches.

Day 3 Rio de Janeiro

Day at leisure.

Day 4  Rio de Janeiro - Iguassu

Transfer to the airport and connect by air to Iguassu.  Transfer to the Brazilian side of the Falls for a tour, then on to your hotel.

Day 5  Iguassu

Transfer to the Argentine side of the falls, an astounding sight!  Enjoy the majesty of the world's most speactular waterfalls. Set in pristine rainforest with countless birds and butterfiles, situated on the borders of Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil, they plunge in a series of gigantic waterfalls over 3 kms long and more than 80 metres high. The thunderous roar of crashing water and the multicoloured mist is natural beaty at it's best. It is undoubtedly one of the world's most impressive sights. Later see the mighty Devil's Throat Cataract.  We then transfer across the border to the Brazilian town of Foz do Iguacu.

Day 6 Iguassu - Buenos Aires

Transfer to the airport and connect by air to Buenos Aires.  You will be met at the airport and taken to your hotel .

Day 7  Buenos Aires

Today a three and a half hour sightseeing tour visiting the most outstanding sites.  Depart from the Hotel to 9 de Julio Ave, the widest in the world, past the famous Colon Opera house, the Obelisk commemorating the first founding of the city in 1536, then to Plaza de Mayo (May Square) and the surrounding buildings: Government House, Metropolitan Cathedral with the Mausoleum of General San Martin, Argentina's greatest national hero and then the Cabildo, the colonial town hall built in 1751. Next, go to La Boca, the typical Italian district, where the first italian immigrants settled and then 'Caminito' street.  The tour continues to the Buenos Aires port area, past San Martín Square towards Palermo Chico residential district and Palermo Park, with its jacaranda and palo borracho trees which flower in the spring and late summer.  The ride continues to Recoleta, one of the most elegant areas in Buenos Aires, to visit Recoleta Cemetery where the famous are laid to rest (including Eva Peron). Return to the hotel along the stylish Alvear Ave.  Afternoon at leisure.

Day 8  Buenos Aires

Day 9 Buenos Aires

You will be transferred to the airport
