You will begin your adventure of discovery in Quito, one of the capitals of the Inca Empire. Journey to Lake Titicaca, lying at nearly 4000 metres above sea level, this is the largest lake in South America. Travel across the lake and the stark Altiplano enjoying spectacular scenery and dramatic landscapes all the way to colourful bustling La Paz where traditional culture still shares the streets with glass towers and the traffic of life in the new millennium. Fly into the heart of South America, Asuncion with its interesting colonial architecture, then on to Iguacu Falls. 275 cascades falling in a wild array of spray over a winding 3km cliff face into the gorge 60metres below is very impressive!
We now experience the stunning and vibrant Rio de Janeiro. Spectacular views from the Sugar Loaf Mountain and Christ the Redeemer statue, plus time to watch people on the famous Copacabana and Ipanema beaches.
Afterwards we will enjoying the sophistication of stylish Buenos Aires. On the optional extension, you will fly into the picture postcard scenery of Bariloche in Argentina where you will traverse the Andes to Puerto Varas in Chile – the scenery is stunning! You will also have time to enjoy Osorno Volcano and the surrounding national park before heading north to Santiago.
